WHY FRUENE?
If you’ve been to Longyearbyen, you’ve definitely stopped by Fruene. It’s more than just a café - it’s a meeting place, a warm corner in the Arctic where locals and visitors gather. They’ve been baking, brewing and (more recently) making world-class chocolate since 2003.

One of the reasons Fruene started their chocolate factory back in 2014 was simple: there weren’t many souvenirs that actually came from here. They wanted to make something that felt local, authentic, and truly Arctic - not just another “made in china” teddy bear. That same mindset is what created this collaboration.

THE POLAR BEAR EDITION
Together with Fruene, we’ve created a small line of souvenir products featuring their famous polar bear mascot. Same high-quality and natural Svalr skincare inside, but with playful, collectible packaging that makes it the perfect gift (or memory) from Svalbard.
Right now, Fruene is the only physical place you can buy our products. So while you’re grabbing a coffee, a slice of cake, or a box of chocolate, you can also pick up a little piece of Arctic skincare to take home.

LOCAL ROOTS, SHARED VALUES
For us, this collaboration is about more than putting products on a shelf. Fruene and Svalr share the same belief: that souvenirs should mean something. They should tell a story, carry a bit of place with them, and leave you with more than just a piece of plastic.
That’s what we hope the polar bear edition does - it’s skincare you can use every day, but also a reminder of where you’ve been, and what this place is about.
